Launched in 2003, ICAS Book Prize is one of the largest book prizes for Asian Studies in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences. It aims to bring a focus to academic publications on Asia in a more interdisciplinary context, expanding it beyond academic circles. 

With the objective to promote Asian Studies in Spain, create opportunities for researchers, and to strengthen ties with Asian Studies Institutions internationally (mostly in Europe and in Asia), Casa Asia has sponsored the Ex-Aequo award for the Spanish and Portuguese language editions of the 2023 ICAS Book Prize.

The International Convention of Asia Scholars (ICAS) is a global immersive platform enabling individuals and institutions from all over the world to come together to exchange views on a variety of issues pertaining to Asia. Its Secretariat is hosted by the International Institute for Asian Studies (IIAS), Leiden, the Netherlands.

Don’t forget that the 13th edition of the International Convention of Asia Scholars will take place in Surabaya, Indonesia from 28 July – 1 August 2024!
