Asian Film Festival Barcelona (AFFBCN) is the leading Asian film festival in Spain, and every year it presents around a hundred screenings from 25 countries in Asia. Cinemes Girona, CaixaForum and Filmoteca de Catalunya are the main venues of this event specialized in the best Asian cinema, held in Barcelona at the end of October.

The festival proposes several cinematic tours through the following sections: Official, Official Panorama, Discoveries, Netpac and Special, all in competition. The festival also presents a selection of the Asian Film Awards (AFA), which is awarded annually by the Asian Film Awards Academy based in Hong Kong, and finally, the Retrospective section that is usually dedicated to an Asian filmmaker. In 2019 the AFFBCN presented an advance of its programme with the OFF Festival as a novelty.

AFFBCN is a festival that brings together the best filmography from the Asian continent and it also makes access easier to to productions from this part of the world, as well as becoming a meeting point of professionals in the film industry. Every year the festival reproduces its activity not only in Barcelona city, but its filmography is screened at other festivals, and other cities in Spain.
