The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) was established in February 1997 by the governments and organizations participating in the ASEM process, which promotes greater understanding between Asia and Europe, around three pillars: political, economic and financial, and social, cultural and educational.

Casa Asia has maintained a close collaborative relationship with ASEF since its creation, as evidenced by the numerous activities carried out jointly in recent years. In 2019 Casa Asia, as a local partner of ASEF, was entrusted with the organization of three official programs that took place in Madrid on the occasion of the 14th meeting of ASEM Ministers of Foreign Affairs: 3rd ASEM Cultural Festival, 9th ASEM Model, and 12th ASEF Journalists Seminar.

Javier Parrondo replaces Santiago Miralles, Ambassador of Spain in Singapore, whom Casa Asia thanks for his work and the effort he has put in at all times to raise the importance of Spain in this organization.

* Asia Europe Meeting (ASEM) is the main multilateral forum created in 1996 to facilitate political, economic and cultural cooperation between Asia and Europe, and jointly address major global challenges. ASEM has 53 partners: 51 member countries, of which 30 are European and 21 are Asian, as well as the European Union and the Secretariat of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
