Casa Asia has hosted Manuel Muñiz, Secretary of State for Global Spain of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation and we have interviewed him so that he can detail the new strategy of Spain’s Foreign Action, the actions in the Asia-Pacific region, the Chinese-American rivalry for world hegemony and the role of Casa Asia in its first 20 years of life.

Manuel Muñiz, Secretary of State for Global Spain of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, presented this morning at Casa Asia headquarters in Barcelona the new Foreign Action Strategy 2021-2024 with the participation of representatives of regional organisations, think tanks, business schools, and those responsible for the international area of Catalan public administrations.

This new strategy collects the priorities and objectives of foreign action, it sets the position of Spain and defines its response. The document identifies four major fractures (socioeconomic, ecological, climatic, demographic and biodiversity, technological and political and governance) and the main trends that are transforming the world and determining its dynamics.

At the end of this presentation, the Secretary of State visited Casa Asia’s headquarters, located on the 2nd floor of the Can Tiana campus, and had a meeting with its general director, Javier Parrondo, and greeted part of the staff of the institution.
