Model ASEM can be your first contact with the exciting world of diplomacy, negotiation and international relations. If you take part you will have the opportunity to put yourself in the place of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of ASEM and together with other students, debate and exchange political perspectives and bi-regional issues.

You can watch the highlighted videos and photos of the past editions of Model ASEM in Myanmar and Mongolia, jointly held  at the 13th Meeting of ASEM Foreign Affair Ministers (ASEMFMM13) and at the 12th Summit of ASEM (ASEM12), respectively.

What is ASEM?

The Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) is an interngovernmental process established in 1996 to promote dialogue and cooperation between Asia and Europe. It is currently made up of 53 members: 30 European countries and 21 Asian countries, the European Union and ASEAN Secretariat. ASEM approaches common interest political, economic, social, cultural and educational issues, in a spirit of mutual respect and equality. More information

What is ASEF?

Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) promotes understanding, strengthens relation and makes easier cooperation among people, institutions and organisations of Asia and Europe. ASEF encourages dialogue, allows exchanges and promotes collaboration within culture, education, governance, sustainable development, economy, public health and mass media.

ASEF is a non profit intergovernmental organisation located in Singapore. Founded in 1997, it is the only institution of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM). ASEF carries out more than 25 projects per year, including 100 activities, mainly lectures, seminars, workshops, publications and online platforms, together with around 125 associated organisations. Every year, more than 3000 Asian and European people take part in ASEF activities and they reach a broad public through their events, social media and website.
