Luis Vallejo Bonsai Museum of Alcobendas will hold a bonsai exhibition between the 5th and the 31st of December 2014.

The Bonsai Museum of Alcobendas, which gathers one of the most important collections in Europe of these miniature trees, hosts from the 5th of December a selection of more than 400 types of Luis Vallejo’s collection and some masterpieces of other Spanish authors. Many of these bonsais come from Japan. Fir trees, maples, pines, cork oaks, olive trees and many kinds can be seen at this display that is part of the closing events of Spain-Japan Dual Year. Simultaneously between the 5th and 8th of December the seventh edition of the Bonsai National Contest MBA 2014 will take place.

Programme:

Friday 5th of December:
1.00pm Opening
Followed by a welcome cocktail
Guided visit around the museum
4.00pm – 6.00pm Workshop “How to place branches in different kinds” By master Taiga Urishibata.

Saturday 6th of December:
10.00am – 1.00pm Simultaneous displays by masters Kevin Willson and Taiga Urishibata. 
Visit to the exhibition – contest
4.00pm – 7.00pm Lecture “Traditional art of displaying a bonsai in a Tokonoma” by master Taiga Urishibata
9.00pm Dinner and award presentation

Sunday 7th of December:
10.00am – 1.00pm Simultaneous demonstrations by masters: Erasmo García, Gabriel Romero and Kevin Willson. 
Visit to the exhibition – contest
4.00pm – 7.00pm Simultaneous demonstrations by masters: Erasmo García, Gabriel Romero and Kevin Willson.

Monday 8th of December:
10.00am – 1.00pm Critics of participating trees. 
Visit to the exhibition – contest
4.00pm Closing 7th Contest  MBA2014.
