La The Asia-Pacific region is the new centre of gravity of the planet. It not only leads the changes that are taking place in the 21st century, XXI but rather points out the challenges that our societies will have to address in all areas of knowledge: economy, art and culture, society, education, technology, innovation and science. Asia-Pacific is closer than ever.

In today's digital and interconnected society, our mission is to promote knowledge and relationships with this determining area of ​​the world. We collaborate in the design of open, innovative, and sustainable societies, thanks to the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, the Generalitat of Catalonia and the City Councils of Barcelona and Madrid, the driving administrations of our Consortium.

Conferences, webinars and seminars

Distance learning, face-to-face and in-house courses

We offer a training offer specific in Asian disciplines and languages, both online and in person in Barcelona and Madrid.

Film festivals, cultural events and concerts

Annually we organize the Asian Film Festival BarcelonA (AFFBCN), and we also participate in the main celebrations of people of Asian origin who live in Spain.

We periodically organize Forums, high-level forums with Asian countries to promote bilateral relations and strengthen ties.

Intercultural programs

We have created intercultural programs to promote diversity in our country such as Barcelona Coral Asia o Forum Theatre. 

We lead projects with institutions and companies

We have participated since 2015 in different European programsWe also advise companies and institutions with interests in Asia, through reports and sector meetings.

Since 2001 we have advised on the implementation of positioning strategies in Asia, we participate in EU programs towards Asia, and we spread the diversity of its crop through exhibitions, book presentations, festivals and film series. Casa Asia also educates in Asian languages ​​and disciplines for school and youth population, with special attention to the promotion of values ​​such as cooperation, solidarity and non-discrimination.

We also analyze the present happening on this continent, we launch common activities with the Asian communities residing in our country, we collaborate on initiatives that promote interculturality and the Sustainable Development goals of the 2030 Agenda, and we are involved in bilateral forums with Asian countries. In all these years, Casa Asia It has become a reference and meeting place in our country in one of the most dynamic regions in the world: Asia-Pacific. Casa Asia It is headquartered in Barcelona and has a Center in Madrid.

ECONOMY AND BUSINESS

Its function is to promote relations with Asian countries in the field of economic diplomacy. It is a meeting point between Asian countries and economic agents, companies, entrepreneurs and research centers from Europe, Spain, Catalonia, Barcelona and Madrid. In recent years, the work of advising cities, Autonomous Communities and other entities has increased, offering the know-how of which Casa Asia has.

POLITICS AND SOCIETY

It promotes knowledge of the sociopolitical, cultural and geostrategic realities of Asia-Pacific and follows current sociopolitical and cultural issues, as well as the commemorations that mark the international agenda. Promote networking with other institutions in Latin America, Europe and Asia and disseminate the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN Agenda 2030.

EDUCATION

It contributes to the development of content on Asia-Pacific in teaching and promotes university studies on Asia-Pacific in Spanish universities, and its internationalization in Asia. It promotes knowledge, skills and linguistic, cultural and socio-laboral competences about Asia-Pacific among Spanish civil society and helps mobility between experts and increases academic exchanges.

CULTURE AND EXHIBITIONS

It promotes the dissemination of Asian cultures in the visual arts, cinema, visual arts, architecture and literature. For this reason, it programs exhibition projects, film series, courses, seminars and meetings or round tables, as well as publications. It redefines intercultural dialogue by generating meeting spaces between different actors from Asia, Europe and the United States, in the field of culture and its cultural industries.

DIVERSITY AND INTERCULTURALITY

It promotes mutual knowledge, dialogue, exchange, and collaboration with Asian groups and people of Asian origin, as well as their visibility and participation in public spaces and civil society, favoring the participation of women and young people. It privileges networking with public and private entities, associations and professionals.

COMMUNICATION

Spread the programs Casa Asia through its digital platforms (website, newsletters and social networks) and in the media. It positions the institution before society as a reference institution on Asia-Pacific and projects it as a tool at the service of Spanish public diplomacy. It disseminates current content about Asia-Pacific and implements internal digitalization processes and ICT strategies.

Governing Council of Casa Asia (2026-2027)

The Governing Council of Casa Asia It is composed of a president and three vice presidents elected from among its members. The presidency of the Governing Council rotates among the member entities and is held every two years.

The Governing Council of Casa Asia It acts as a collegiate governing body and holds the highest authority within the Consortium. This council has equal representation, with its members appointed and dismissed by the consortium's member administrations, and will be composed of:
− 6 members representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation.
− 6 members representing the Generalitat of Catalonia.
− 6 members representing the Barcelona City Council.
− 6 members representing the Madrid City Council.

In addition to these members, the institutions will appoint alternates to ensure the necessary quorum for decision-making at all times. The Governing Council may establish a Delegate Committee of the Governing Council, which will be composed of two representatives from each of the member institutions.
