This volume brings together images of Vietnam's propaganda graphics, in the “poster” format. The originals, from the National Museum of Fine Arts of Vietnam, were the subject of an exhibition held in Casa Asia (Barcelona, Madrid) and at the University of GranadaIt was the first time that this graphic art, which marked the country from the 60s to the late 90s, was shown outside of Vietnam. As Nguyen Binh Minh says, the propaganda poster is a genre of graphic art with a very defined aesthetic character. These posters were more politically focused and, at the time, were dedicated to the revolutionary sentiments of the people in their constant struggle against internal and external enemies. Vietnamese propaganda graphics were fundamentally intended to encourage the masses to work for national liberation and for the defense and construction of the new Vietnamese homeland with promising slogans that heralded a just, democratic, and civilized society.
