"la Caixa"-Casa Asia Grants are extended to 6 Countries of Asia-Pacific

Once again, Casa Asia and "la Caixa" Foundation call for their grants to study postgraduate courses at universities and teaching centres in the area of Asia and the Pacific.

For the first time, this grant programme promoted since 2004 is extended from three to six countries of the area of Asia and the Pacific (Australia, South Korea, India, Japan, Singapore and China). This edition includes two more novelties: on the one hand, it allows not only to study and MBA but also to carry out PhDs or masters in any academic discipline. Depending on the interest of the topic and the value of candidates, projects of basic training in scientific and technical research will also be accepted. The second novelty offers a free election of the university or training centre in the area of Asia and the Pacific.

With these novelties, "la Caixa" and Casa Asia aim to make access to university degrees of all fields of the Asian continent easier, which represents 60% of the population of the planet and concentrates 55% of world GDP and 44% of world trade.

"la Caixa"-Casa Asia grants cover the registration fee of the university of training centre, a monthly fee depending on the country of destination, travel and other expenses. Spanish nationality university graduates can apply for them. The call is closed on the 24th of March 2014.

"la Caixa" postgraduate grants have unanimous recognition of the educational community. Rigour in the selection process of students and the volume and economic importance of these grants has consolidated the global programme of "laCaixa" grants as one of the most important financed by private institutions of the European Union. The grant programme of obra social "laCaixa" and Casa Asia are within the framework in the collaboration agreement signed in 2003 and the committment of both institutions is confirmed in promoting activities and projects that contribute to a better understanding and promotion of relations between the societies of Asia and the Pacific and Spain. Until this new call, the programme has consisted on granting scholarships to study an MBA at CEIBS in Shanghai (business school of the Chinese Government and the European Union) and at the Indian School of Business of Hyderabad in India.
