An ITC Delegation of Chinese Managers visits Casa Asia

A Chinese delegation made up of 8 managers and professionals of digital media and companies of the ITC sector have taken part this morning at Casa Asia in a roundtable about “Economy and Digital Media”. This delegation is part of the programme “Future Chinese Leaders”, organised every year by the Spain-China Council Foundation.

The local counterpart was made up of a reduced group of companies, institutions and media from Barcelona and Catalonia, (Turisme de Barcelona, Acció, Abertis, Digital Legends, EEiO- Barcelona City Council, Barcelona Activa, Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, the Area of Economic Promotion of Barcelona City Council, La Vanguardia, Punt-AVUI-TV, Assocation of Journalists of Catalonia, and Melia hoteles international).

During the discussion, the members of the Chinese delegation have had the chance to get to know about the socioeconomic reality of Barcelona and Catalonia, its main assets and potentialities in the sector of Information and Communication Technologies (ITC), as well as the reality of local digital media. On the other hand, representatives of agencies of economic promotion, of the sector of ITC and of the Catalonian media, have had the chance to get to know the current situation of these sectors in China and to contact possible Chinese counterparts that could interest for future projects of economic or business cooperation.

Yhe Chinese delegation was made up of 4 journalists with an important online presence, a representative of a platform of marketing and e-commerce services, another representative of service platform that promotes investment and two managers of the Tencent group, the biggest Internet company of China, owner of Weibo or WeChat.

Before the debate, the Director General of Casa Asia, Ramón Mª Moreno and the Ambassador Alfonso Dezcallar and the Secretary General of Spain-China Council Foundation have offered a welcome speech to attendants.
