Tattoos are a world that is both familiar and yet largely unknown, as well as a powerful means of expression and communication between cultures. Our starting point will be Asia, a continent known for the richness of its cultures, where traditional tattoos play a fundamental role.
This talk will discuss the history and current state of tattoos: Have you ever wondered why we get tattoos? What is their origin? Why don't they disappear from our skin? Is it dangerous to get a tattoo?
There are currently ethnic groups in the world that have almost lost their culture and, with it, the practice of tattooing as a sign of belonging to a community. In our culture, however, tattooing is gaining popularity every day, although its true significance is often misunderstood.
As Paul Valéry wrote:There is nothing as deep as the skin".
