El Asian Film Festival Barcelonand | AFFBCN, the Asian art-house film festival, which organizes Casa Asia, reaches its thirteenth edition this year and will be held from October 29 to November 9.
El AFFBCN has consolidated a festival model in which it exhibits more than a hundred films representative of the most recent experimental and independent cinema from the Asian continent, with the participation of filmographies from a twenty countries in the Asia-Pacific region, from Iran to New Zealand.
The Festival's programming aims to give visibility to both established filmmakers and new talents, and once again this year the predominant genre in the film selection is drama in its various forms. The hundred titles that will be screened in the Festival's regular movie theaters AFFBCN they are distributed in six competitive sections: Official, Official Panorama, Discoveries, NETPAC, Special Section and New Perspectives.
El AFFBCN 2025 will grant its awards for best film, best director, and best screenplay for each of the competition sections, through their corresponding juries, composed of directors, film critics and writers.
The festival has opened for the second consecutive year the call for submissions that can be part of the programming of the Asian Film Festival Barcelonthis year.
