With the aim of bringing Asia closer through workshops and activities, on this occasion, we will hold a kokedama workshop, Japanese floral art.

Kokedama(苔玉) is a Japanese botanical art that is more than 500 years old, and which many consider the brother of the famous art of bonsai. Furthermore, kokedamas are very trendy because they have everything to succeed in decoration trends: they are very attractive, elegant, beautiful.

Kokedama It literally comes from two words in Japanese: Koke (苔, which means "moss", and Dama (玉), which means "ball", and it is precisely that, it is an art that consists of enclosing slow-growing plants in balls of substrate. and moss so they can thrive with their own moss pot.

The art of kokedamas It has been carried out in Japan for more than 500 years and it is not only because of its beauty, since, according to its practitioners, it helps them have a house that is more in contact with nature, in addition to having many benefits as it is an activity. very relaxing, even stating that it has very beneficial components for brain activity.

In this workshop, you will learn how to make two kokedamas, its origin and benefits of having it in your home. Also how to do it, how to keep it in good condition, its best location and what type of containers are best for them.

Teacher:

Taught by Yuko Nakajima, who trained in cultural anthropology, education and teaching in Japan. Four years ago she started the Petit Japó workshops where he not only teaches crafts but also the way of thinking, the worldview and Japanese culture.

The way of elaboration and creativity of each culture tells us about how we live and the soul of each society. That is why in his workshop he not only teaches the practice but also explains the concepts to understand Japanese culture.

Our hands, they say in Japan, are our second brain. That's why he loves crafts in which his fingers and fingertips work, which connect and activate our mind.
