With a restrained, realistic style, rich in imagery and sharp humor, his work presents a reality that has often gone unnoticed in his country's literature: that of the urban underclass. The writer is one of the emerging voices on the Chinese literary scene.

徐则臣 Xu ZechenBorn in 1978 in Donghai, Jiangsu Province, he graduated from the Department of Chinese Language at Peking University and is currently editor-in-chief of People's Literature magazine. He is the author of the novels To the north, Jerusalem, The king's city is like the sea, Surviving in Beijing (published in Spanish in 2019 by Siglo) XXI from Mexico) and from Stories from the outskirts (Automática Editorial, 2026). She has won numerous literary awards, including the Lu Xun Prize, the Lao She Prize, the Yu Dafu Novel Prize, and the China Best Books Award, among others. In 2019, her novel To the north won the 10th Mao Dun Prize. The novel Jerusalem He won the Lao She Prize, the Chinese Language Media Literary Prize, and was a finalist for the Pavilion Prize. Belén Cuadra Mora She holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics and Translation and a Master's degree in East Asian Studies from the University of GranadaAfter graduating in Translation and Interpreting, she lived in China for fifteen years, where she studied Chinese language and culture at Beijing Foreign Studies University and worked as a translator and interpreter for the Xinhua News Agency and the Spanish Embassy. She currently teaches Chinese at the University of GranadaShe is also a visiting professor in the Master's Program in Conference Interpreting for Business at the University of Alcalá. Her main research areas are Chinese linguistics and Chinese-Spanish literary translation. She has translated into Spanish works by Lao She, Yan Lianke, Qiu Miaojin, Can Xue, Bei Dao, and Xu Zechen, among other authors. In 2021, she received the Chinese Translation Prize.
