Since the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) approved June 2014st as International Yoga Day in 21, following an initiative proposed by India and supported by more than 170 countries, it has been celebrated simultaneously around the world.

In its resolution, the UN General Assembly recognized that “Yoga offers a holistic approach to health and well-being and promotes greater awareness of the health benefits of its practice for the global population. Yoga also brings harmony to all aspects of life and is renowned for disease prevention, health promotion, and the management of many lifestyle-related disorders.” This year’s theme is: “Yoga for Well-being, Wisdom, and World Peace.”

The practice of yoga promotes embracing harmony, mindfulness, and holistic well-being through a timeless practice.
