Book Launch: “Kintsugi. El arte de la resilencia”

Presentación del libro: “Kintsugi. El arte de la resilencia” - IMG 2

Céline Santini, expert in art therapy, invites us to discover and explore the art of kintsugi in all its aspects. This ancestral technique, discovered in Japan in the 15th century, consists of repairing a broken object highlighting its cracks with gold instead of hiding them.

But its philosophy goes beyond a simple artistic practice. It goes with the simbology of healing and resilience. The broken object, once healed and honoured, takes on its past and, paradoxically, it becomes more resistant, more beautiful and prettier than before.

This metaphor shines on each stage of any healing process, physical or emotional and it reminds us that our accidents, wounds and tribulations have made us suffer, but have allowed us to grow along the path.

The term kintsugi comes from Japanese kin (“gold”) and tsugi (“joint”); it literally means «golden joint». The art of kintsugi is also called kintsukuroi, which means “mended with gold”. It consists of a repearing process that is long and precise, which is made up of several stages that last several weeks, even months.

La presentation will be developed in French with consecutive translation.
