Course: "Adventure in Japan"


Do you want to go to Japan? Are you planning or going to the country of Manga, el J-pop, ikebana and cherry trees? This course aims to offer students minimal essential information to make the most of their trip to Japan. At these three sessions you will learn essential aspects of their culture, you will get to know the most emblematic places and you will receive practical advice as a traveller so you can enjoy the experience even more.


General information:

Japan: some history. Receiving country of influence before an island-country,  
• Geography, 
• Climate, 
• Seasons of the year,
• Calendar,  
• Festivals and festivities,
• Regions.     
• Transport, 
• Accommodation, 
• Commercial timetable,
• Food and leisure.

Advice for travellers: Survival Japanese (greetings, expressions, etc.); politeness rules, gestures, things that can be done and can't be done.

The trip:
Travelling in Tokyo:

Essential venues
Traditional Tokyo (neighbourhoods, temples, garden, museum, leisure, etc.)
Modern Tokyo (neighbourhoods, museums, fashion, pop culture, technology, etc.)       
Outing from Tokyo (Nikko, Hakone, Kamakura)

Given by:
Naoko Sato is a Education and Sociology Graduate by University of Tsuru, and has carried out several courses and activities on teaching Japanese as a foreign language. As a teacher she has rich experience in Japanese teaching on all levels from beginners to advanced. Even though she has used several teaching methods, we highlight her knowledge on Marugoto method. She is Japanese language teacher at Casa Asia since 2015.
