Lecture: "Security and the Human Right to Water in Central Asia"


Owing to the publication of Security and Human Right to Water in Central Asia (Palgrave), its author, teacher Miguel Ángel Pérez Martin, will identify the different actors involved in the field of water and their relations regarding conflicts, paying special attention to multilateral security organisations (NATO, OCS and OTSC) and the role these organisations have played in the management of conflicts linked to this fundamental resource for our own survival in the planet.

Lecture delivered by:
Miguel Ángel Pérez Martín, Graduate in Political Science and Sociology by the University Complutense of Madrid and Doctor in International Relations by University Autonomous of Madrid. He has worked as a teacher or researcher in the United Kingdom, Germany, Iran, Kazakhstan and Spain.

He is specialised in areas such as governance of natural resources (water, hydrocarbons, minerals, etc.) and human rights. He has published in several media and publishing houses such as Palgrave Mac-Millan, RBA editors, CIDOB, Economia Exterior, Revista d'Informació Comercial Espanyola, Reial Institut Elcano.

He currently works as the coordinator of the Observatory of the Human Right to Water of IUDC devoted to the study and analysis of governance of hydric resources of the world and to promote the human right to water and sanitation.

Carmen Rodríguez, PhD in Political Science and Sociology by UAM. Professor of Arab and Islamic Studies at University Autonomous of Madrid.
