Casa Asia presents at the Filmoteca Española of Madrid seven Iranian films in collaboration with the Cultural Department of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Farabi Foundation of Teheran.
The films screened have been made between 2014 and 2015, and their directors are part of the new generations of film makers, who add local and open narratives, showing the audience information that only films can transmit.
Without wanting to approach all the complexity of a polyhedron society like the Iranian, films that are presented respond to an interest of their authors to communicate with the world beyond its natural borders, which they manage to do with audience from other nationalities such as ours.
The selection of these seven productions show that there is a living cinema that has a solid development and still holds a first order position in the international scenario, as it is proved in its unstoppable trajectory for more than 30 years. At the last edition of the Casa Asia Film Festival | CAFF (2016), two of the films of this series were awarded. These are TAJRISH…AN UNFINISHED STORY, directed by Pourya Azarbayjani, who received the Prize to the Best Script in the Panorama Section; and COLDNESS directed by Bahram and Bahman Haj Abol Loo, awarded by the Youth Jury with the Prize to the Best Script and the jury of the Official Sector awarded with the Prize to the Best Director.
