Ikebana (生花), synonymous with Kado (華道), is the traditional and delicate Japanese art of floral design that invites you to 'bring flowers to life'. It is the subtle art of searching for beauty in nature and within the human being. In Ikebana, nature enters our hearts and our homes with all its freshness and vitality.

In class, contact and interaction with the beauty of nature gives us relaxation and well-being, it is time to enjoy the moment. At home, Ikebana brings us harmony through the contemplation of what we have given life to through our hands and our hearts.

This course aims, on the one hand, to introduce new students to the art of Ikebana and, on the other hand, to provide continuity of more knowledge to students who have already taken other previous courses with us. The knowledge that both students provide is fed back in a very positive way. This type of learning process has proven to have very enriching results.

The concepts taught are from the new Jiyuka style of the Ikenobo School of Floral Art, Kyoto (Japan), the most ancient School of floral art in Japan. Given the modernization of global society, the Ikenobo School is committed to the study of the new Jiyuka to develop the practice of Ikebana in a more personal, natural and intuitive way based on the observation and search for the life force of flowers. and stems of plants and trees.

In this 6-session practical course, attendees will study the Japanese floral arrangement technique of the new Jiyuka style, and will make a composition each day with natural materials from the spring seasons.

It is not essential to have prior knowledge of Ikebana, but if you have it you are also welcome! We will work and enjoy in small groups, therefore the disparity in levels will enrich the experience.
