The Teatro Real offers each season a series of activities parallel to its programming in collaboration with various institutions. Within this framework, and on the occasion of the premiere at the Teatro Real of nixons in china, opera in three acts by the American composer John Adams, Casa Asia will organize in collaboration with Casa de América a colloquium at the Teatro Real on the historic visit of President Richard Nixon to China in 1972 and his meeting with Mao Zedong, in which the reasons and consequences of this historical event will be narrated, and will be analyzed. the parallels between the situation in which the world found itself when this trip took place half a century ago and the current geopolitical reality.
