Casa Asia collaborates with the Veranos de la Villa Festival and the Chinese Cultural Center of Madrid in the exhibition “Seasonal Proximities” by digital artist Cao Yuxi. China is the guest country in the 2023 edition of the festival on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Spain.

In 2022, at the request of film director Zhang Yimou, the artist Cao Yuxi was responsible for the audiovisuals of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics ceremony. Once again, the Chinese creator surprised the public with one of his experiences immersive works that often take the form of monumental installations and have been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world such as MOMA PS1 and Beijing Today Art Museum.

“Seasonal Proximities” is presented at Veranos De la Villa, an exhibition in which Cao explores one of his favorite themes: the influence of technology and the digital age on our perception of reality. Through interactive displays and moving image projections, this fascinating work of art depicts vivid natural landscapes in an immersive 360-degree cinematic experience, transporting visitors into the great outdoors.

Cao Yuxi designs, collaborates and advises on projects that cover the entire spectrum of sound visualization, programming and computing. Her innovative approach to art creation and incorporation of technology has allowed Cao Yuxi to generate and shape numerous design projects, including space design, new media art installation, and public art in and outside China.
