El lloc que la República Popular Xina ocupa al món actual és d'una transcendència innegable. A causa de l'obertura a l'exterior i de l'enorme creixement econòmic que això ha comportat, en les últimes dècades es vénen produint una sèrie de canvis dels quals aquest informe s'ocupa. Prenent com a base les onades de 1990 i 2007 de l'Enquesta Mundial de valors, es descriuen una sèrie de factors d'índole política i soci-cultural en aquests dos moments del temps i s'analitzen els canvis observats.

EL passat diumenge 25 de març es va escollir un nou Cap Executiu de la Regió Administrativa Especial de Hong Kong (RAEHK). El 9 de setembre serà el torn del Consell Legislatiu. No obstant això, són moltes les qüestions i els punts analitzats en el present article que posen en dubte que l’exemple kazakh ofereixi un referent mínimament útil per a afrontar el repte que representa el programa nuclear de Teheran.
