Owing to the programme Indian Future Leaders of the Spain-India Council Foundation, Casa Asia organises two events: in the first place, a roundtable with the chefs Carme Ruscalleda and Sanjeev Kapoor and later on, another roundtable about the future perspectives, opportunities and challenges of Indian economy in the next years.

Is there a universal language in the kitchen? How much information does gastronomy give us of a place? Is it possible to have a good biriyani in Barcelona, or are the environmental factors –often intangible– inherent in a specific cuisine (cultural, climatic, biological, etc.) determinant in the flavour and experience of every meal? Which are the current tendencies of haute cuisine? Is there a gastronomic tourism?

India is a consolidated economic power, the third in Asia and one of the most dynamic countries in the planet. The bases of its economy are solid and forecaste prolonged success in the future. Leaving a 2011 of tough world crisis behind, its forecasts of growth remain reaffirming the country as one of the development engines and of the future world economic recovery.
